Spectrabind Rubber Crumb is purpose-built for binding rubber crumb in safety surfacing applications including playgrounds, park pathways, and sports areas. Based on MDI (Methylene diphenyl diisocyanate), this single-component aromatic polyurethane resin is solvent-free at 100% solids and cures via atmospheric moisture.
The addition level is 10-20% for top/wear coats, with typical thickness of 40-150mm compacted with mechanical force. Cure time is 12-24 hours naturally, or can be accelerated to 4-8 hours using 1-2% SC Catalyst.
Not UV stable — the product will change colour over time, but this is generally acceptable for rubber crumb applications where aesthetic colour stability is less critical than performance. The product has a specific gravity of 0.95 and an NCO content of 8.5-9.5%, providing an excellent balance of reactivity and working time.
